Renault 4 E-Tech electric crossover priced from £26,99509:24 AM, May 28 2025
Prices and specifications for the Renault 4 E-Tech are now out, with the hotly anticipated electric crossover set to undercut many key competitors.
Reborn for the electric era, the Vauxhall Mokka and Jeep Avenger rival will be priced from £26,995 when orders open in July.
The single powertrain from launch features a 150hp electric motor with a 0-62mph sprint time of 8.2 seconds and powered by a 52kWh battery for a WLTP driving range of up to 247 miles. It’s equipped with a 100kW DC charger and can charge from 15 to 80% in 30 minutes. A 0-100% charge using a 11kW AC charger takes four hours 51 minutes.
Three grades will be on offer – Evolution, Techno and Iconic – with the option of the electric ‘plein sud’ canvas roof on the latter two arriving later. All three are dotted with references to the original Renault 4 throughout, such as a single-piece illuminated grille, a modern take on the three-part rear lights, and various other touches.
Standard equipment across the range includes 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and Renault’s OpenR Link system, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, accessed via a 10.1-inch central touchscreen. Techno and Iconic models come with Google services built-in, including Google Maps with charging-optimised route planning and a variety of apps from the Google Play store. These models also add in a 10-inch digital driver information display.
Up to 26 advanced driver assistance systems will be available, including rear occupant safe exit alert, active driver assist combining adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go and lane centring assist, as well as blind spot monitoring and hands-free parking. The Renault 4 E-Tech also comes with the My Safety Shield function, which allows drivers to activate their preferred settings at the touch of a button.
A new One Pedal function is available from Techno grade up and optimises regenerative braking, coming to a stop without the driver having to apply the brake.
Sitting above the smaller but closely related – and also retro-inspired – Renault 5, the 4 E-Tech is said to deliver generous cabin space especially for rear-seat passengers, along with boot space of 420 litres, accessed via a hands-free power tailgate on Iconic models, and growing to 1,405 litres with the rear seat folded down.
As with the 5, it’s the latest reboot of an iconic Renault model, and will be followed next year by the Twingo city car. All three sit on the same AmpR Small platform.
Sales open from the summer but customers buying a VIP access R Pass for £150 can order the new Renault ahead of the general public. The R Pass also comes with the exclusive offer of three years’ free-of-charge servicing, when financed via Mobilize Financial Services.
